Recipes - June
Fiery Ribs

1 kg pork or beef ribs(2 lbs)
The juice of 1 lemon
750 ml water(3 cups)
250 ml Regular Bar-B-Que Sauce(1 cup)
5 ml All Purpose Seasoning (1 tsp.)
2.5 ml pureed ginger( tsp.)
30 ml orange juice(2 tbsp.)
15-20 ml
Basil’s Fire and Brimstone(hot) (1-1 tbsp.)
15 ml freshly chopped green onions(1 tbsp.)

Note: have the butcher cut the ribs into bite size pieces if you like it that way.


Rub lemon juice into ribs and let sit for about 5 minutes. Rinse completely.
• To a pot of boiling water, add ribs, and cook for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and drain.
• In a microwave safe dish, mix the remaining ingredients (except for the green onions) together. Microwave on HIGH for about two minutes, stirring occasionally.
• Pour the mixture over the ribs, return to the stove top or place in a skillet. Cook for about 15 more minutes or until most of the sauce thickens. You may need to add a touch more water while the ribs are cooking.
• Remove from heat, place on a serving dish, and garnish with green onions.
