Channa (Chick Peas) Delight

Channa (Chick Peas) Delight

l - 19 oz. (540 ml) Garbanzo beans
chopped small onion
1/8 tsp. (1.5 ml) cumin
1/8 tsp (1.5 ml) black pepper
red or yellow sweet pepper cut into thin strips
1 tbsp. (15 ml) Highwood Crossing Organic Canola Oil
4 cloves chopped garlic, or to taste
tsp (1.5 ml) Basil's Fire and Brimstone Hot Pepper Sauce (add more or less, depending on how hot you like it)
Salt to taste
2 tbsp. (30 ml) chopped green onions

Method:
• Drain most of the liquid from Garbanzo beans
• In a medium saucepan, heat the oil
• Add onions, cumin, garlic, and pepper strips to oil
• Reduce heat and saute ingredients for 2 minutes until the onions take on a pearly color
• Add black pepper and salt and continue stirring
• Add Garbanzo beans to the mixture. Stir so that the beans are well coated with the mixture.
• Add Basil's Fire and Brimstone, stir for 1 more minute and remove from heat.
• Place on a serving dish and garnish with green onions and sweet pepper strips.
