Channa (Chick Peas) Delight
l - 19 oz. (540 ml) Garbanzo
½ chopped small onion
1/8 tsp. (1.5 ml) cumin
1/8 tsp (1.5 ml) black pepper
½ red or yellow sweet pepper cut into thin
1 tbsp. (15 ml) Highwood Crossing Organic Canola
4 cloves chopped garlic, or to taste
¼ tsp (1.5 ml) Basil's Fire and Brimstone Hot
Pepper Sauce (add more or less, depending on how
hot you like it)
Salt to taste
2 tbsp. (30 ml) chopped green onions
Drain most of the liquid from Garbanzo
In a medium saucepan, heat the oil
Add onions, cumin, garlic, and pepper
strips to oil
Reduce heat and saute ingredients for 2
minutes until the onions take on a pearly color
Add black pepper and salt and continue
Add Garbanzo beans to the mixture. Stir so
that the beans are well coated with the mixture.
Add Basil's Fire and Brimstone, stir for 1
more minute and remove from heat.
Place on a serving dish and garnish with
green onions and sweet pepper strips.
